I read that US Mil drop testing showed that MLok maintained attachments 100% of the time, while Key-Mod only kept the attachments secure 33% of the time.

I have read that a 9mm provides similar ability to stop a threat due to advancements in ballistic technology in recent years. The advantage a 9mm has over a 40 cal is less recoil. So you're better off with 9mm. That's why 40 cal is available and 9mm is not. It's no longer the go to round.
The issue with a subcompact is that you don't have as much control. So you are putting the recoil of the 40 cal into a small package, which will result in more difficulty maintaining your barrel on the threat.
This is all what I have read, so do not take it as gospel.
