If im reading this right, theyre cutting 100 out of 1400 police officers, and slashing 3 mil from a 400 mil budget.
To be sure, that city needs every cop it has getting rid of even a single officer is a mistake. But these numbers are far lower than what I thought, given the fiery rhetoric. Seems like they don't have the stones to go through with what they were threatening (which is good).
Grew up in Austin, and have lived in Atlanta, Chicago, NYC, LA, and DC for school and work, recently moved back to Texas. In my experience, theres no comparison. You get NYC level salaries in Texas, pay no state income tax, get much better housing prices, and the people are much friendlier. There isn't anywhere thats perfect, but Texas is as close as it gets, in my humble opinion.
A few of my friends got it. They are all healthy, ages 30-35. They told me it felt like the flu for about 4 days and they lost their sense of smell. Fully recovered after 5 days.
Doesn't sound like something that's worth shutting the whole effing country down for.
Why do these "errors" only go in one direction?!
