People that espouse this can’t even identify color correctly, so why does anyone take them seriously? Hold up a white paper towel to your skin. Does it match? Even albinos cannot be legitimately classified as white. In all my years & travels, I’ve yet to see someone who is “black”. Technically, it’s a spectrum of beige to dark brown. So tiresome.....
Thank you for having taken the time to express your thoughts. It is not a “TL;DR hazard” whatsoever. Rather—a succinctly stated perspective that needs to be heard & considered. Hopefully, many will read & reflect.
Over the past 40-50 years, the cultural erosion has been incremental; much of which went seemingly unnoticed. The past 10 or so accelerated into a frenzied mess & by 2015, it was as if a switch was flipped, devolving into unhinged emotion-based thinking & chaotic behaviour. It seems that logic & reason have been replaced by the currency of feelings, which has created a demonstrable imbalance. Righting the ship will take time & energy, but the question remains: Are we up for the task? Taking back the culture is necessary & indeed, a worthy cause. The depth of commitment is something each individual must weigh.
Older pedette here:
These are lyrics from an Emerson, Lake & Palmer song: “Karn Evil 9” on the Brain Salad Surgery album circa 1971 (or thereabouts).
Very appropriate as a song for this week/month.
ELP was comprised of 3 incredibly talented gents who composed music that was quite different from what we were used to hearing.
Never would I have believed back then that this song would be cited for the aftermath of a fraudulent election.
He's a thinker---exploring every nook & cranny of a thought. I appreciate the complexity he provides; it sparks my curiousity to examine whatever he presents. Sometimes it is challenging to grasp, but I appreciate how thorough explanations are.
Could you please explain why that is? I'm not up-to-date on Australia & their policies regarding anything covid-related. I made an incorrect assumption that the lockdown et al was happening throughout the country. Thanks for any insight you can provide - it's appreciated!
Thanks for pointing that out. The sign looks like it was professionally made. I use the term “professionally” loosely.
I’ve been told it’s old-fashioned to have pride in one’s work. But I grew up with “Do it right or don’t do it all all” & it continues to have merit in most industries. That sign just screams sloppy, like all the other antics we’ve witnessed as of late....
Agreed. Hard to listen when he talks over or interrupts.
