Forget about China for now, they are not the immediate threat. First the issues closer to home need to be dealt with. The traitors and the coup. The last thing the US needs right now is a war with China, especially when you don't have government support. From what I've read, Trump is in Texas at the military command center. Invoking a military response on home soil is probably the last thing any president wants to do and I suspect if he is with his military advisers, they will be having some very intense discussions on a course of action.
