There are 4 problems with gold that bitcoin solves.
- Transportation (Good luck crossing a border with it)
- Storage (requires significantly more security)
- Division (Not easy to divide a gold bar)
- Verification (There are "gold" bars that are just tungsten wrapped in gold and you need an x ray machine to see it.
Anyways, cryptocurrency is a free market. Bitcoin isn't the only one. The important thing is to separate currency and state.
