"Central banks probably own the majority of major crypto." "We should be going the other way, returning to gold and physical currency."

Excuse me while I place my face in my palms (Because central banks own the majority of gold, which was your alternative suggestion.)

This is just a Pareto distribution. There are no resources that this is not subject to, except perhaps in communist countries.

There are 4 problems with gold that bitcoin solves.

  1. Transportation (Good luck crossing a border with it)
  2. Storage (requires significantly more security)
  3. Division (Not easy to divide a gold bar)
  4. Verification (There are "gold" bars that are just tungsten wrapped in gold and you need an x ray machine to see it.

Anyways, cryptocurrency is a free market. Bitcoin isn't the only one. The important thing is to separate currency and state.

You value privacy? Buy Monero instead.

The transparency of the bitcoin network is it's greatest strength, and its greatest weakness.

But at the end of the day, you prefer gold? I'm down with gold. But the government HAS confiscated it in the past. Bitcoin is unconfiscatable if you memorize the seed words.

Look around you. What has our founding ideals led to?

Governments only grow, they do not shrink. Ever. Once you assign a monopoly on the use of force, it's lust for power grows until you have communism. We're well on our way there. There will be no return to the founding ideals. Not until the system collapses.

Look man, I'm here for solutions. The government is evil. Full stop. It's coercive, and taxation is theft, and it's nothing but a punishment on the productive in order to subsidize the unproductive. Basic economics tells us that as a result you will get less productive people and more unproductive people. Gee I wonder what I'm referring to.

Small government is the pathway to communism. Government must be abolished completely.
