They're also fucking morons. I'm an accountant and deal with a few states and the feds. The IRS is slow, but they're understanding and realized when they've made an error and will eventually get around to correcting it. The franchise tax board is a shit show. I've had them apply tax payments to wrong years, wrong companies, and just fucking lose returns. I would never want to live or do business in Cali if there was any way to avoid it.
