The deathrate among closed cases is irrelevant, and no one goes by that. The death rate among closed cases for swine flu remains over 60% to this day.
When people talk about the deathrate, they want to know the amount of people that die after contracting the virus. Closed case death rate is hardly interesting outside of medical circles.
That being the case, the true deathrate is well under 1% since 86% of people that get it don't even know they have it and are asymptomatic. The 2-3% rates we hear are for those that have gotten tested and are confirmed to have it, but if you're asymptomatic you most likely won't ever get tested.
This virus is so terrible that 86% of infected people have no clue they even have it. Better shut down entire states!
