Because it's not the pub that causes covid, but the number of other people in the pub with covid. By staying at home for months, we went from lots of people having it to not many people having it. Think of it this way - if one in a thousand chicken wings gave you explosive diarrhoea, it's probably a risk worth taking, but if it were one in five, you'd probably give it a miss.

Once you've got the cases down to a reasonable level, there's a balance to be struck. You can re-open stuff and still keep cases down if you take other precautions like partitions between tables. There's still a risk, but it's a very small one because not many people have covid to spread. There's no reason why most of the US can't re-open businesses right now if people take precautions.

Think of it as putting the needs of the country before yourself. It's no coincidence that the only places that have had outbreaks since we eased restrictions are shitholes infested with muslims who've ignored the advice and only care about themselves.

These are pro-democracy protesters in Belarus. Please stop spreading fake news - that's for Biden supports to do, not us.

For what it's worth, the UK has already managed to successfully re-open pretty much everything, including pubs. Largely because people have been listening to the scientists and following distancing rules.

I find it hilarious that Americans think his accent sounds "smart". He's from Birmingham, which is the dumbest-sounding accent to us Brits.
