If that happens, I'll only be disappointed, not shocked.
You make a good point. That case is a good example. That decision was made when it had a chance to influence voting in this election. Choosing to dissent post election is a little different. We'll see.
Many cases that get dismissed are dismissed because the Supreme Court decides that the matter should be decided by a lower court; that's not possible in this case. Now that almost all of the states are participating in this case, I don't think the Supreme Court still has a viable option to dismiss this case. Theoretically, they could dismiss it but it would be beyond weird because the obvious result would be electoral chaos.
Hilarious. Can't argue with you.
You're getting a little ahead of the game. Biden's not on trial here.
I've read enough of their cases and understand that the lefties frequently ignore the constitution and legislate from the bench. But this is not a typical case. This is a case that their grandchildren will look up and read. If there's a dissenting opinion written in this case, it will be mocked in law schools for centuries.
I don't expect unity in the near future but a unanimous decision would help some folks come to their senses.
Correct. The SC is not being asked to rule who won the election.
Because stacking the Supreme Court would destroy the court's credibility. Before she died, RGB stated that very clearly. The credibility of the court matters to all of the justices. Nobody gets to the Supreme Court without caring quite a bit about the legal system.
I can't imagine what they would write in a dissenting opinion. One can't argue that discarding late votes would disenfranchise voters if the states didn't bother to verify that they were actually voters. But lefty justices have impressed me with their clown-world "logic" before.
My bet is that the SC ruling will throw it back to the states directing them to throw out all the late votes and signature audit the remaining mail in votes. The state legislatures will decide that eliminating the late votes gives their electors to Trump, then skip the full signature audit for expediency. Time will tell.
I came here to say this but you beat me to it. It should be a Challenger! It's still very cool.
"Something needs to be done about this piece of shit cry baby loser" "I'm about to blow a gasket" -- That there's funny, I don't care who you are.
Even better, there's nothing they can say in response to this case. People who did not have authority to change the election rules changed the rules. They can't say "we didn't do what we clearly did". They can just stand there and look guilty.
OP is right. This lawsuit was clearly part of the Trump team's brilliant strategy.
So stoned that they're running a week behind. Still, better late than never.
F-off Geoff!
No, that would be a legal misstep. Arizona played loose with the rules before the election, but the other named states had political hacks change laws in major ways with no authority to do so. That's what this case focuses on. Without Arizona being named, it's an open and shut case. If they named Arizona as well, the defense would have arguments they could make. Much better to leave Arizona out of this one.
They shouldn't be so sad. Our unity will be much better than their unity.
Correct. He's saying that harm was done to him too.
"American by birth. Southern by the grace of God."
Sept 23rd article. The didn't "just" do anything. C'mon man.
Absolutely, but we won't know about it for a while. Automated vote switching by Dominion machines nationwide probably cost Trump the popular vote. Near term lawsuits are focusing on other issues, illegal rule changes and mass mail in vote fraud. Cases about automated vote switching will probably occur after the election is determined for Trump. But they will happen. There's no way that a big red wave swept the house while Biden rode a gigantic blue wave to win the popular vote.
Arizona isn't going to join a lawsuit against Arizona.
You got here because the powers of evil have not been resting. Not being evil, you realize the importance of defeating them.
