There's two neighborhoods even closer to this new development than mine, and the homes there are in the $750k range. My neighborhood is more like $350k range. This isn't coastal areas, $750k gets you an acre plus lot, 5000+ sq. ft., a pool, three stories, top line finishes, etc. There are probably 5000 better places they could have put Section 8 housing in the city limits, but they went for this location because, no doubt, of this rule that just got deleted.

I've never worn a mask and just avoid going places where they will give me shit over it. I work from home, have for many years, and pretty much only go to the golf course currently. My wife does the shopping, and she's been seeking out places where mask wearing is optional, and takes advantage of curbside pickup, drive-through windows (even at a liquor store, a nice big one), etc. I miss going out in the evening for a few hours of dinner and drinks, but oh well. It sucks. My friends and I still get together all the time and hang out here at my place or their homes. I've tried to talk to people about how ridiculous it all is but some just don't want to hear anything that goes against their programming. Which is pretty much anything that minimizes the risks of this virus to the vast majority of the population.
