Seems like a pretty soft way of getting canned to me, an email blast. When people have gotten canned at my workplace, the GM and I show up early, dump their shit in a box and stand at the front door and tell them they're out, and take their key card.
That's undoubtedly true in many cases, but I would argue this is a bit different. I'd say they're knowingly concocting a fake threat so they can continue flex on America. It's a classic statist scheme, claim there is danger and use it as a pretense for consolidating power.
