Pro-tip: spend the time finding a base location that has within its buildable radius an EM field for power generation, and an oxygen deposit for refining up resources and keeping your life support powered up. It might take a bit of time to find the perfect spot, and requires a modification to your visor to find these deposits, but having access to an infinite supply of these resources is so clutch at your base(s).
It's maybe the best turnaround in gaming history. They have had so many free updates, content added, and really polished the game nicely. What they did recently with the appearances of different environments/biomes is pretty awesome.

Yeah there is multiplayer. It's not super geared towards multiplayer action though. There are missions to collaborate on, dogfights to get in to, and I suppose you could construct bases next to one another, but at it's heart it is a sandbox/exploration game. The teleporter system is easy and extensive though, so when you're out exploring and fucking around it's a snap to go to a particular place to join up with your people.
