The question will become, what will the rest of the US do about it? Texas has its own farmland, oil, power grid, and warm-water coast-line. Texas has tech. Texas would do just fine on its own without the rest of the US.

My entire point was that just because something didn’t work 100 years ago doesn’t mean it can’t be made to work today. All of the examples I gave were towards THAT point, not to the hyperloop in particular.
