That's actually a fair point, I figured that they use a machine at some point to count as it's a lot to count by hand, but I'm not too sure about that.

They absolutely do instruct new arrivals how who to vote for. There was a pamphlet distributed around I think Toronto essentially giving each party a grade for muslims to vote for.

But it also unfortunately does come down to local elections and if you have a shitty fake Conservative vs one of the LPC or NDP, no one is going to be motivated to vote for him. The CPC are just Liberals from 5 years ago, and 5 years ago that was Trudeau. Why the hell would I vote for that?

I can count on one hand the number of people I know who don't actively hate Trudeau.

Plus our system is different than yours. We don't vote for the Prime Minister. We vote for local Members of Parliament who, if they win their election, earn a seat in the House of Commons. The party with the most seats assumes power and the leader of that party becomes Prime Minister.

So Trudeau is trash, but you could have some decent local Liberals (not in my opinion) or awful local Conservatives.
