In most cases, yes it does. Anyway, if you find a site that doesn't work, you can report it to Brave (using a button, or on their forum) and it will be fixed.

For the record, Brave automatically blocks YouTube commercials.

Brave rejects lots of cookies instead. It only gets the non-tracking, non-third-party ones, which are basically compulsory otherwise you couldn't use most websites (including TDW). As for California, see my nickname.

In theory, your IP address could be found even using Tor behind a VPN. By the way, the purpose of IPFS is not hiding your IP address, but decentralize a website so that it's much more difficult to remove it and make it more efficient at the same time.

Claiming that Brave is "spyware" is just ridiculous. Not only most claims are invented, but this "article" doesn't even say that Brave implements randomized fingerprinting,

These decentralized websites are a good way to avoid censorship. It's great that the Brave browser started to support them. I hope others will follow suit.

Dissenter hasn't been updated for a year. It's unclear if it's abandoned or not. The original "Brave" has more features and fixed bugs.

It's based on a de-googlized version of Chromium; not Chrome, which is closed source by the way.

It could run faster on older machines simply because it's an old version of Brave.

Brave is actively developed and performance on all platforms (mobile included, not supported by Dissenter) is constantly monitored; also, people can report bugs, suggest new features, discuss with the programmers etc. On the other hand, Dissenter is an old version of Brave without the cryptocurrency supported by Brave; however, it doesn't have a team that takes care of the development of the browser.

If you mean the Linux version of Dissenter, it's identical. By the way, bugs and security issues are not "theoretical": they can be exploited by any malicious website. Anyway, your choice.

I am a Brave user and was going to download its "descendant" Dissenter to try it out. However, the download page says "Windows 1.5.114, March 23 2020". Do you guys know how many versions of Brave have been released in the meantime? More than ten. It means lots of bugs and security issues fixed. I have nothing against the Dissenter browser—maybe its "comments" feature is fun—but I don't recommend using it because a browser that gets updated so slowly is not secure from a technical point of view. https://thedonald.win/p/11S0pmIV2h/unfortunately-dissenter-browser-/
