Sorry but that's not true. Brave is based on Chromium (not Chrome) and Chromium gets completely de-googlized before adding Brave's features.

Because Chromium is the most compatible rendering engine at the moment. It also has plenty of extensions and so on.

I agree that a temporary homepage could be convenient, but technically that means having a server already and so on, which could be risky and/or difficult for Parler in this situation. Actually, being completely offline for the time being is the safest option for them.
