I just finished knitting a pair of socks and went to Ravelry to see what other offerings the designer has.

Lots of socks, most of them free. This is great and one of the things I like most about Ravelry.

BUT...

She is also offering a hat pattern called Not for Trump Fans. It features clever slogans like Fuck Trump and a couple of ironic portraits (I chuckled that she took the time to graph those out...)

Point being, Ravelry made a big deal about not allowing designers to post pro Trump patterns.

Hypocrites.

I wanted to point it out in case anyone wanted to use the Trump charts to make a pro Trump version of their own.

A bear walks into a bar and orders a beer.

Bartender says, "Sorry, we don't sell beer to bears in Butte."

The bear says, "Stop kidding around and give me a beer."

"Nope, sorry. We don't sell beer to bears in Butte."

The bear got very angry and killed one of the local prositutes sitting at the end of the bar.

"If you don't pour me a beer, I'll do the same to you," said the bear while picking his teeth.

The bartender calmly says, "No can do. We don't sell beer to bears on drugs."

The bear roars, "What are you talking about!!"

"Well, wasn't that a bar bitch you ate?"

Watched a documentary called DON'T PANIC (2013) https://youtu.be/FACK2knC08E

Statistician Hans Rosling discusses world population growth and argues that improving prosperity in developing nations is driving down the birth rate and simultaneously increasing the female survival rate. Lots of cool graphics.

About 30 minutes in he address global poverty and uses an example of how something as simple as a bicycle can lift a family out of extreme poverty and put them in a much better situation.

It occurred to me that even if he's optimistic about stabilizing birth rates, donating bikes to people is a do-able way to help improve the quality of life for many families.

10 admitted to the ICU in the last 7 days, 138 hospitalized.

The Health Ministry uses contact tracing to limit outbreaks.

My observation: People generally comply with mask rules and they wear gloves and/or sanitize hands when they enter a building. Starting to see my elderly neighbors in the street again.

That's all well and good as far as it goes, but June 19th is a Friday. And people will need to cash payroll checks as well as make use of bill paying services that the bank offers.

Seems self defeating and cynical.

I'd prefer the bank took a look at creating products and services to help people who, for whatever reason, can't or don't have bank accounts. You know; the poor, single parents, people who just got out of jail, people with bad credit, people who haven't learned how to budget or manage their $$$.

It's probably much easier to close the bank's door a few hours early for a single day.
