If "Kamala not resigning before she is constitutionally forced to" was actually a good analogy to a car coming at me, then I'd agree. I just see her decision as simple politics and maximizing her access (i.e. still being on the intelligence committee). I see very little upside in worrying about this particular situation as opposed to the dozens of other things going on that are much better analogies to the "car coming at me" one.

There are some obvious eventualities are ARE concerning and we SHOULD be focused on. I just disagree that this one is one of them.

But who knows what she is thinking or worried about? How can you know?

I am not presenting a strawman. I am simply stating the facts that:

  1. She is under no pressure at this time to resign
  2. It is fair to ask the question about why
  3. However it is a fool's errand to escalate this until inauguration

We are aligned on point #2 but I think you think I am arguing it. I am not. If you want to argue point #3 that is fine, I understand.

Or perhaps I'm just reasonable in that this "scheme" you refer to is ENTIRELY LEGAL. There is ZERO constitutional requirement for her to resign prior to inauguration.

Listen I hate Kamala and Biden but I'm going to fight the battles worth winning. This one isn't one of those. Yet.

This isn't a promotion though. She's moving to an entirely different branch. Some would even call it a demotion (although I'd disagree with that).

For the past few month I've been pushing back on people bringing up her lack of resignation as being notable because Biden himself didn't resign to become Obama's VP until Jan 15. There were plenty of other examples of January resignations too.

However you are right that this is now, at minimum, "notable". Not sure if I'd say yet that it is "highly questionable" but we're getting close to that.

The MSM won't report on it regardless.

Anyone who did anything illegal and then posted it online is a damn fool. Giving Parler your phone number was stupid. Going through the certification process with scans of your drivers license is the peak of naivete.

The cost to keep it afloat or to decommission it and break it up are both substantially higher. Getting $1.5M is probably a win for Brazil.

You are correct on this. In fact, the other day MilSpecOps Monkey said there were 4 of them up, which is 1-2 more than normal.

It's a myth that L'Enfant planned DC to be confusing to stem off invasion. I find it fairly easy to navigate, for exactly the reasons you mention. Now Boston though, THAT is a confusing grid.
