I would be more concerned about we how treat the unborn. Ripping a child apart while it’s still inside the womb is revoltingly evil. If it was widely condemned I wouldn’t be so appalled but the fact that it is widely celebrated only furthers my belief that the devil is very real and he is everywhere.
That Judith Butler quote sums up modernity so well. Hiding depravity in a fog of fake intellectualism. People pretend like that kind of stuff means something if you’re intelligent enough to understand. Spoiler alert, it doesn’t mean anything.
I’m also concerned but one thing that amazed me when I first started really getting behind him was how he always has a plan. We were led to believe that he’s just stumbling around in the dark but time and again he’s proven that he’s always thinking ahead. I don’t know why it would be any different with this
I think the overwhelming majority of people on here would agree that homosexuals deserve equal treatment under the law (as should everybody regardless of race, religion, creed, sexual orientation etc.) what we don’t agree with is the normalization of sexual depravity.
I’ve posted in more length before but quick summary, inquisition didn’t have any Iron Maiden’s or torture sessions, it dealt with mostly political dissidents. The church were the ones who funded Galileo and they had a falling out because he had mouthed the pope, a friend of his, and refused to apologize (again, a political issue). There are plenty of well respected and credentialed scientists who believe because of science, not in spite of it. Great example is James Tour who is the top organic chemist in the world, billions of dollars is invested using his research as a foundation and he has plenty of videos talking about how life is an impossibility and how he is better positioned to make this claim than any other scientist on the planet
“Things that were true of Christianity in like 1000ad” - most of the things you hear about Christianity is complete bullshit. The inquisition, the crusades, stifling science, all of these things are completely misrepresented. Has the church done bad things? Of course, it’s a human institution, that’s unavoidable. But nothing like the things that people so often “know” about the church.
I agree but the devil uses everyone and everything for evil. The devil is more intelligent than any human being could ever become given a thousand lifetimes. If we try to fight him alone (or think that we’re wise to him) he will win every time. It gets frightening to think about if not for the one thing he doesn’t want you to know more than anything else, that Christ has already defeated him.
Because it’s the truth, plain and simple. I used to get into huge conversations, debates, arguments with friends and family but ever since I started to truly understand it I’ve realized that this is all that matters. It’s the truth, nothing more needs to be said
This argument has always been nonsensical. People die accidentally or of natural causes every moment of everyday, it doesn’t follow that murder is ok. Same as miscarriage. A child died accidentally or of natural causes, it doesn’t follow that abortion is ok.
