He did the best he could. He won in 2016 against all odds and was left with only the Republican swamp to work with. Both sides fought him the whole way, the Democrats directly, and the Republicans indirectly by giving him people to work for him that stabbed him in the back. Thousands of bureaucrats that were and had been firmly entrenched in various agencies didn't help either.
The election was lost when they failed to stop mail in voting from becoming a thing. The best hope for the future is to get that shut down for 2024 and figure out if Trump is going to be able to run, or if we need someone new.
I think there is a problem with registered vs eligible. The numbers are possible, but I think we should go back to the beginning and examine how did we get from 155 million to 212 million registered voters in 2 years? What are the trends of registered voter numbers over the years, has an increase like that ever happened? There was population increase over that time but I would imagine it's relatively small, a few million people?
