GOP monetizes opposition to Democrats but few actually oppose Democrats. They're the guard dog that lets the fox into the hen house because they don't have to do the dirty work and still get their cut.

Someone mentioned somewhere else that was the original inauguration date. Was bumped up to 20 Jan at some point.

The continued utilities is a big factor.

Years ago I read some guy's blog about evacuating for hurricane Katrina and how all that went down, what he learned, and so on. His take on things is that a crisis is generally local or regional, and if bad enough that you have to relocate, the things to have on hand is everything you need to start over somewhere else. Personal records, up to date resume, and other things that can't be easily replaced but are necessary to re-establish yourself. The scenario can be a housefire or a hurricane.

To actually answer your original question, ready.gov has some decent guidance on things to do to prepare that are more pragmatic than zombie apocalypse scenarios. They have some basic lists that you can tailor to your situation.

Good responses already. With the limited time we have left, and to the degree you have funds and storage space, think about getting enough household things you normally need and use to last 3 - 6 months, and keep those as reserve.

Odds are if anything goes sideways we'll be caught somewhere between mildly inconvenienced and SHTF. Think broad supply shortages as bad or worse than what happened when China Virus lock downs started.

My opinion for many folks in suburban areas, a lot of survivalist advice isn't going to be especially practical beyond storing a few weeks of basic supplies for sheltering in place without electricity, water, etc. In that case don't forget about sanitation- get little bags for collecting fecal waste, wet wipes, soaps, cleaners, extra water (not just drinking water), gloves, etc.

If things go full SHTF then many of us are in for severe hardship.

At a glance, it is reported that Bell's palsy affects 40,000 people in the US each year. That's about .012%. Assuming even distribution through the year then .003% in 3 months. Seeing .02% in the trial group suggests there is some validity to the concern that it increases risk.

Expelling Chinese nationals is long overdue. Our universities should have been guarded as a matter of national security. As much as we bag on the indoctrination, we should be pushing much of our youth toward STEM educations. Instead we educate foreign students, and then train them to do our technical work.

Forget the Rubicon, if Trump crosses any rivers it's the Delaware.

Seriously. What part of "The judicial Power shall extend to all Cases, in Law and Equity, arising under this Constitution, the Laws of the United States, and Treaties made, or which shall be made, under their Authority (...) to Controversies between two or more States..." doesn't apply?

They definitely had a vested interest in his election!

I wouldn't rule out fraud. I saw much greater support for Puto (ha!) than Biden ever had though.

In case you don't know, that part of the video is a reference to the movie Half Baked. Worth a watch if you haven't seen it.

O'Rourke had a lot of campaign money coming in from the Left. Turnout was really high for a mid-term Senate Race. Cruz got about as many Votes as Trump in 2016.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Hunter's laptop was the insurance that Biden does come down with that illness and resigns, putting Harris in as POTUS and soon.

Robbery, not burglary, is a violent act against a person. When libs say that an individual person should just relinquish their things, or acquiesce to rape, or submit to tyranny, it is because they don't acknowledge that the individual has autonomy.

It's an entirely disconnected and abhorrent worldview.

Not just tap into the base, Cruz knows that if Trump can't win a rigged election then he has no chance himself. Election integrity has to be assured now or never again.
