Non essential fed employees have either been put on work from home, or in the case of blue collar feds, placed on paid administrative leave. Probably similar for state employees.
They keep shortening the length, reducing the max speed, and doubling the price,all so they can transport illegals throughout the state. I don't think they will ever finish the whole thing.
