From my State Senator:
Dear friends,
Thank you for the trust and confidence you place in me as your elected representative to the Michigan Senate. I appreciate the passion and patriotism that drives your desire to ensure free and fair elections in Michigan, and please know that I share these values, and that I stand with you in calling for election officials to adhere to all applicable provisions of our state and national constitutions and laws.
As you consider what you are hearing and reading on traditional, online and social media, please remember that Michigan Election Law (Public Act 116 of 1954) specifies that the state’s electors must be those nominated by the party whose candidate receives the most votes. It does not allow for the nomination or approval of alternative electors. State laws also dictate the immediate removal of any elector who does not vote for the presidential candidate of the party that nominated the elector, and that an elector’s illegal vote must not be counted nor recorded.
Our laws are also clear about the process by which electors are selected and carry out their responsibilities. In accordance with these laws, Michigan’s Republican and Democrat parties nominated their electors at their state conventions in August of this year. The Legislature has no authority to replace these electors nor dictate that they act in any manner counter that which is specified by law.
As your state senator, and a citizen of this great state and nation, I fully support our Constitution and laws ensuring that the process of counting and recording votes is handled fairly. Should you come into possession of any evidence of wrong doing and/or illegal activity, I encourage you to immediately share this information with law enforcement, the secretary of state and the state Republican and Democrat parties, as well as myself, so that immediate action can be taken to stop and address such activity.
Sincerely,
Peter J. Lucido
God dammit he’s annoying. Stop inviting people on your show to listen to you talk about stuff
