Unfortunately that’s a really risky move that has burned a lot of companies in the past. Even if they had the warehouse space, getting the extra assembly lines and logistics set up would be extremely costly with no guarantee of future demand to utilize the capacity. Although I have to say, I don’t see demand falling any time soon.
Another thing to think about is bottlenecks in the supply chain. I don’t know how vertically integrated these companies are or how much excess raw materials they have access to. It wouldn’t surprise me if most of the raw materials were sourced from - you guessed it - Chyna.
Hopefully ammo manufacturers have a plan B for raw materials and building out their capacity. But we saw a similar thing happen in 2011 after Sandy Hook and the capacity still isn’t here. Obviously not to the extent we see today though.

Well, the U.S. is bound by treaty to defend Taiwan. There’s an official DoD war plan for that eventuality. Who knows if Biden would honor it.

I watched a whole BONE crew get Q3’d, sent home from SWA for retraining, and had their careers ruined because they dared to cross into the 5nm buffer on the border of Pakistan in support of a TIC. This was in summer 2012 during peak Obama bullshit.
Those guys knew what would happen to them and they chose to provide air support anyway because American soldiers’ lives were in danger. And they got a big blue dick up their asses because why, they made Pakistan nervous? Spare me the strategic gobbledygook you fucking corporate suits with stars on your shoulders. That shit would have never happened with GEOTUS as CinC.
If you stay, make sure it isn’t out of loyalty. They will toss you under the bus as casually as they sip their lattes in the pentagon.
The fun stopped permanently in 2012 under Welsh. In a matter of weeks my squadron went from being the place I wanted to be late on Fridays to absolute drudgery. The culture was totally defenestrated. I volunteered for every single deployment to just get out of the PC mother ship until I couldn’t avoid it any longer. Taught at the schoolhouse for a year and punched out. Such a shame.
Side note: everyone I saw make O-6 during my 7-ish years was a phony woke politician. All the really well respected guys topped out at O-5.

John James is an old friend and classmate of mine. I never knew him to be strongly political or ideological in any direction. I trust him to make the correct policy choices but he clearly still does not have a full understanding of the democrat party.
