Here is an article that explains it. Natural Gas production has fallen off a cliff. The gas generators can not produce if they do not have fuel https://www.texastribune.org/2021/02/16/natural-gas-power-storm/

I don't necessarily see anything nefarious on the part of energy producers. Nearly half of the electricity in Taxes is produced by Natural Gas.

Some power plants were off-line for planned maintenance as winter is usually low demand relative to summer.

Texas does not have a lot of storage capacity for Natural Gas (like many other states due), due to the abundance of natural gas wells, it is usually more efficient to pipe the gas directly to power plants

The freezing temperatures have caused disruptions in many natural gas producers due to freezing equipment, and frozen pipelines (NG when before refining contains moisture that can crystalize and freeze).

Why would natural gas producers halt production when the price is at a premium, unless the weather caused it.

As far as nuclear reactors, it is not uncommon for Nuclear Power plants to be running at partial capacity at any given time.

Regarding coal, which makes up 20% of Texas Electric Capacity, I haven't seen any problems with those plants producing energy right now

I dunno, I went to Miami for a business conference, I never felt so lazy in my life. Heat and sunshine made it difficult to work. Don't know how people live there and get shit done

Mitch ain't exactly a 10, and she's about 70 years old. This merger had nothing to do with looks, it is all about her families $1 billion fortune and Mitch's political power

Peter Schweitzer wrote a book about it, it hasn't exactly been a secret.

You think the deepstate went through the effort of getting someone with dementia into office solely to replace him?

Dementia Joe is who they wanted, unaware and willing to sign whatever they put in front of him. They aren't going to swap him out for Kamala and risk her having her own opinion.

Like the time I leased an AWD SUV after a snowstorm, and it didn't snow the next 3 years.

I always buy lunch from the same takeout place. I never wear a mask, and they don't care. One day, I walked in and the workers started yelling at me to wear a mask. Turns out the police stopped by the day before and told them if people didn't start wearing masks they would shut them down

True, but this headline is misleading. The article states the online petition was started by voters. Whereas the Utah Republican Party Officials are full cucked acknowledging Romney's vote and stating a diversity of opinions is "healthy"

I don't get the hero worship for Putin. The dictator issue aside, Russia has not done well economicaly under his leadership.

There was a time in the late 1990's up until around 2008 that the Russian economy was booming. Foreign investment was pouring in and Russia was having an Economic Rennaissance.

Then Putin made the same mistake Hugo Chavez made (and something China has been smart enough to avoid). The first step was when he basically took over ownership of Yukos, which was one of the largest public companies in Russia. Screwing it's shareholders in the process.

That put a little chill in investors, but people figured maybe it was a one time deal, and the exposure to foreign investment was minimal.

Then he went and took over Hermitage Capital . The largest foreign investment firm in Russia at the time.Transferring ownership of all the companies assets to a buddy of his.

That all but put a complete stop to foreign investment in Russia. No one is going to invest money if it can dissappear at Putins whim.

Russia has not been the same since, it is essentially a 3rd world economy but growing at the slow pace of a fully mature economy.

Not a fan of Xi Jinping, he is a mass murderer after all, but at least he has the intelligence to know not to shoot himself in the foot.

Case in point, he kidnapped Jack Ma, but he didn't disrupt the activity of his company or it's shareholders .

Putin on the other hand was willing to blow up the whole Russian Economy because of his ego.

It is also utter bullshit, no single country can go back to the cold standard. The price of gold is determined on the open market and can fluctuate wildly causing havoc to a country that ties it's currency to it.

Either a critical mass of countries switch to gold, or it won't work at all.

1
SnowflakeJuice 1 point ago +1 / -0

No country is going to tie itself to gold anymore because all the economies are fake. They all rely on debt and printing money to meet their budgets.

Aside for that, the only way a gold standard works is if many countries tie themselves to it, otherwise the price of gold can swing wildly with market manipulation and send a country tied to cold into complete chaos.

Nah, he resigned either because deepstate had something on him, or he couldn't handle the job. Neither one speaks well of him.

He wants back in because he sucks at TV and his days at Fox are likely numbered. Probably doesn't have a whole lot of career prospects.

Not sure how I feel about this Chaffets resigned in the middle of his term. To me that is a sign of low character.
