I can relate, I have a relative that works for a company that did furnished short term rentals for businesses. Relatively large family owned business, went completely to shit over the last 9 months, 200 employees without a job. It will be a long time before that business recovers, if ever

The money to schools last time was earmarked for Covid related supplies, usually, school districts only buy from pre-selected vendors who just turn around and source the product at market rate, triple the price, then sell the goods to the school districts.Often these preferred vendors have relatives on the school boards.

I agree with the sentiment although the numbers aren't entirely accurate. There was also money designated for extended unemployment, and the PPP , although there may have been some abuse, is a good program.
It is because of PPP that initially the economy was able to rebound so quickly. The problem was it was only intended for a 2.5 month lockdown, so when the Marxist Dem governors, extended it for another 6 months, the benefit of the program was lost.
Another round of PPP is needed, small business on drowning in debt. 30% already closed, many more will shut down soon.
That being said the $600 number is bullshit. For most people that doesn't even pay their property tax for a month, and many have been out of work, or have had limited business for 9 months. People have been putting their daily living expenses on credit cards, because of a politically induced shutdown. Normally I am fiscally conservative, but if the government borrows money routinely for random bullshit, they shouldn't get cheap when it comes to making whole the damage they caused.
There is plenty of other bullshit in the bill, $80 billion to schools. $15 billion to independent theatres (this means Broadway, Schumer pushed for this), and I am also going to call out the $20 billion plus for farmers.
I love farmers, why not, they produce the food we eat, but of all businesses they would seem to be among those least impacted by Covid. People are still eating.
Businesses that were negatively impacted should have equal help through PPP.We shouldn't single out specific industries for extra benefits because of political favors.
