Get a larger diameter 8” pipe and an auger the same size or larger.
Drill a hole, insert the larger pipe as a casing. Insert 6” pipe into larger pipe, it helps to have a handle on the “top” of your 6” pipe.
Now you can retrieve your smaller pipe much more quickly than if you buried it flat. Smaller metal detector signature too.
