You might consider it “bad form”, but it’s not illegal, and as a business owner your responsibility is to the survival of the business. For a business to incur unneeded debt because of a holiday is financially irresponsible. Yeah, we lost the business, but hey, we didn’t look bad while the ship was going down! Lol.
Why is this guy bad, because he fired people? Sometimes it’s necessary to keep the company afloat. If the company doesn’t have the money to keep people, you don’t go into more debt as a Christmas gift to your employees. Timing is bad, but it’s business, it’s not personal.
