GEOTUS pulled us out of the Paris Climate accord and TPP in addition to upping tariffs on other countries.

This man is the best thing to happen to this country in over 30 years.

...this is a preemptive target at any future private citizen who wants to take on the establishment. All this wasn’t/isn’t being done to stop just Trump. Even if 50 perps go to prison as a result of all the immoral activities 2015-2017, who in private life would run for President again or professionally support another DJT-type campaign given what he has been subject to over the last 4 years?

GEOTUS is truly special. I hope he serves as inspiration for decades/centuries to come in this great country as someone who took on deep rooted corruption in this country and across the globe. 30-50 years from now, regardless how it all turns out, the younger MAGA crew need to keep this legacy intact.

Not a judicial process. Key differences. Though I am no legal scholar and literally have the experience of only having spent 3 weeks in a courtroom for jury duty, I’ve made a few parallels with “normal” examples to help put into context. Feel free to correct me if I am off base. IDGAF about internet popularity points, I’m doing this to validate my own logic and probably won’t even respond to your comment or defend the ideas below.

“Political process” is no different than a bill being traded back and forth in the house/senate to be eventually be ratified into law subjecting the people to its outcome. A bill simply does not become law because the house passes it on to the senate. If it ultimately fails in the senate, the bill does not become law. Where legislation process diverges from an impeachment proceeding in my mind - if a bill gets through the senate to become law (if not vetoed by president) the judicial branch can still nullify the law on constitutional grounds. Does the impeachment process get the same benefit of judicial check and balance if passed by senate? At what point does the judicial branch get involved in impeachment? If no oversight from judicial branch at any point, this proves to me the impeachment process is nothing more than a political mechanism which does not require a violation of law (a double edged sword because “feelings” or anything for that matter could be considered impeachable, much like criteria for pursuing a frivolous lawsuit). As I learned in high school...impeachment process was expressly written early in the creation of our government for nullifying an electoral vote should our politicians deem a president unfit for continuing in office (e.g. a president does nothing illegal but has done something bad enough “the people” - read, our representatives, remove them from office mid term). The house democrats have been very transparent about this (AOC especially) - this is their hail mary late in Trump’s first term to remove him for office (though impeachment being a political process I’m not sure there’s anything that prevents Trump from running again in 2020 even IF he is fully removed, subject to public opinion of course, not prohibited legally).

“Political process” to me means no law has to be broken for impeachment proceedings to begin. An opposing party simply needs an excuse with enough perceived basis and enough media backing for a congressman to believe their constituents agree to move forward. The entire theatrical performance in front of us in the house is intended to sway public opinion with a complicit media to give democrat congresspeople a level of comfort that enough of their constituents are convinced that they can vote in favor with confidence. We’ve already seen some democrat congresspeople distance themselves, and thus Trump having violated no law fundamentally makes this more about muh feelings than any law debate (which is why you see democrat “witnesses” talking about how they felt and what they thought vs. “this is why Trump violated #X.XX.X statute”).

“Political process” vs “Judicial process” in a daily setting...the political process of impeachment seems no different to me than a lawsuit where someone feels they have been wronged vs a judicial proceeding where someone is brought up on charges for violating a law. The jury I sat on was a lawsuit for medical malpractice. No law was ever cited as violated from what I can remember but the plaintiff claimed the medical professional was negligent. It was on the plaintiff’s team to make concrete claims and initially they called witnesses (under oath) to create a story to hopefully convince the jury that malpractice occurred in order to collect damages. Where the case started falling apart is where the plaintiff’s team called in “experts” late in the trial who were not under oath and were there merely to be “an expert” claiming this was 100% a case of malpractice (without having any first hand knowledge). There was some credibility to the firsthand witnesses (which the defense did a good job rebutting), but when the experts were brought in from across the country and literally talked about their feelings and perceptions it actually detracted significantly from the objective case and things went downhill quickly. We had a very objective jury and I think the plaintiff’s team very badly misread the pool during selection or was using the expert “feelings” as a last ditch effort to save their lawsuit (jury ultimately ruled in favor of the defendant BTW after a 3 wk trial with almost no deliberation).

This is where the impeachment proceedings are today IMO. The “witnesses” brought in two weeks ago were there to create the story (but still really hearsay and muh feelings) and the “experts” we see now are here to reinforce why the plaintiff (democrat) case is legitimate. All of this is to sway public opinion to make a yes vote palatable by the congressional “jury”. I’m convinced the case being made currently is literally the weakest/lowest entry into impeachment proceedings as a last ditch effort to remove Trump (knowing still the Senate likely won’t pass it), and if nothing more work to sway public opinion like the litigation lawyers do when someone is sued vs. being charged with a crime.

With the help of media cronies the sham of an “investigation” and “impeachment trial” is being billed to the public as Trump violating some law - “high crimes and misdemeanors!” - and thus needing to be removed (given that would be the most sure form of guilt), while their only entry into the proceeding is hearsay information on how those who heard “felt”. This gives me confidence it’s all been set up for political points and won’t actually happen.

TL;DR - It is all so interesting to me watching democrats dig themselves into a hole in the same manner much like a malpractice lawyer did in my real life jury example. Today’s impeachment proceedings have not discovered a violation of law and are nothing more than democrats suing for removal based off how witnesses/experts “feel”.
