we feed paper ballots into a machine. Typically we have a manila folder type thing that hides the selection as it goes in, but this time I was not given a folder fed the ballot in directly in plain sight. I assumed “COVID avoidance” in not reusing these folders as usual, but I have since seen videos of other polling places still using these folders.
Anyone else have this experience? Anything goofy going on with this?

What software company uses 100% US-based resources and what level of governmental security/standard would be necessary for coding something like a voting machine? In what way is something as critical as a voting machine vetted? Who agrees the software is ready for release and what governmental agency oversees this?
