I agree with this. I’ve got a bum brother in law, and there’s millions of others, who gets big tax refunds on taxes he never paid through the EITC.
They only fair way to collect taxes is a flat tax, no bullshit social engineering brackets. That would (depending on the rate) very likely raise lower income taxes, and lower them for higher incomes. Also, no employee withholding. Each person writes an annual/biannual/quarterly check. If the citizenry had to actually pay taxes the way the self employed do, there would never be another democrat elected. More people would actually care about government spending as well, since they’d have “skin in the game”.
I need really good internet for my business, not sure how I’d make that happen without cable. I’d have probably cut it already if the bundled service wasn’t nearly the same price as internet only. It includes home phone as well, I can’t remember the last time anyone used the land line. In fact the only handset is the one on the fax machine and even that doesn’t get used, switched to an online service for faxes. It’s cheaper than buying toner cartridges.
Edit: We had a Jack Russell for 15 years. Great little dog and intelligent AF. Sad day when we had to put her down.
