To further add: in my personal experience, I used to run a bbs back in the old days. I sucked at layout and graphic design. But the site worked better than other boards around here - eventually people who were good at layout and graphics were like "I like what you're doing - let me help" and that's when things really took off.
Generally coders aren't really about the appearance of the UI. They're good at the inner workings but need outside talent to "spruce up" and polish the interface. It will come once the popularity of the app or site increases.
Somehow they've convinced the last two generations of caucasian people to remove themselves from the gene pool in multiple ways that no other generations have.
It's was already bad enough when my generation (x) was coming up. I can only imagine the hell these younger kids are being forced to deal with.
