This really is how seizing power works. Look at Gaddafi's coup in 1969: a relatively small group seized the royal palace and the military headquarters. The king even dismissed it as unimportant on the day that it happened. The king and the military of course could have kept going as normal from elsewhere, those buildings weren't inherently all that important to them. But taking those symbols lead the army and political leaders to declare them the legitimate authority.
If Trump had gone to the Capitol, encouraged more people to go in, and said that he absolutely would serve a second term and that the traitors had been expelled and were to be arrested, much of the nation would have been his that day. (We probably would have seen the blue states object and essentially break away - good riddance)
Instead he stopped his plans, told people to leave, and accepted defeat.
Seizing the capitol gave him a prime opportunity to seize power from the traitors, if he had been putting plans in place to do so. In a situation like that, power is absolutely derived from holding the symbols of rulership.
You really are out of the loop then. No surprise if you didn't hear any of that (which was posted plenty this very forum) that you aren't on the sites where the other protest was planned
There are places besides here, Facebook, and fbi.gov mate
How'd the Constitution wind up working for you? This is Mike Pence-tier junk. The Constitution is an ill-conceived document cooked up by traitors from the 1700's. It didn't even reach its bicentennial before we had mandatory government enslavement of nearly every minor in the nation and legalized infanticide.
Honestly read and understand Mike Pence's statement on why he failed to take action on the 6th if you want to understand why Conservativism failed in the end. This idiotic reverence for democracy, the constitution, and the founders is what lead to its downfall.
The Left triumphed because they didn't shackle themselves to those stupid things. Election doesn't go your way? Steal it. Constitution doesn't say what you want? Ignore it. Don't like what the founders thought? Screw them. That's how the Left approached it and that's how they won.
Right? If he had repented then the Gospel According to Judas could have been an amazing work about the temptation, betrayal, and redemption that he underwent. A look at how each of us betrays God with our sin and so crucifies Christ, but can still find forgiveness.
Instead we just got a nasty burst corpse in a field
There wasn't the will to do what was necessary to keep it going. Look at all the rhetoric from Republican leaders including Trump himself: Democracy, Constitution, Founders. Belief in those three things kept them from creating a new government that would truly work to improve the nation.
Instead we continue a failed political experiment from the 1700's.
No he didn't. Putting himself at risk would be if he attempted a takeover on the 6th like he needed to have been planning.
Instead he said that those who put themselves at real risk for him, several of which died for him, were villains who deserved to be punished.
He should have been planning to take over by force for years. No other president has had such a loyal and zealous base. We would do whatever he said and we have the arms to enact his will.
Instead he condemned the ones that seized the seat of government for him and thinks he can make Trump TV even as he is ruthlessly expelled from all platforms.
Yeah Trump is being delusional, frankly, in his belief that he can be a media influencer after this. They will deplatform and destroy him with everything they've got.
Seizing power is - or, I fear, was - the only hope. He blew his shot: we took the capitol for him yesterday and he condemned us.
We can only hope now that someone with a true plan arises one day.
We offered him everything, but he bungled it and condemned us and is leaving like a wimp and a coward. If he believes the election is being stolen then his duty is to fight to the bitter end with everything he's got.
But he isn't. He will go down as an unusual, entertaining, but ultimately mediocre President.
You are completely wrong. Everyone in the entire world knows it, even Trump himself as he clearly said just hours ago. All that's left with you is the sad pile of conspiracy theorist idiots that are perpetually wrong about absolutely everything.
Whether it's child torture videos on Hunter Biden's laptop or Trump arresting Gina Haspel as the beginning of a purge of the government, it's nothing but gullible or mentally ill people repeating madness again and again. I hope when Trump peacefully hands over the nation to a usurper in a couple of weeks it at least shows you how disconnected from reality this way of thinking is.
Yeah, and many of us are having our lives ruined because of what we risked for him yesterday. It's tough to save a nation.
He wasn't willing to risk it all like we were yesterday. If he believes the election was stolen, his duty is to go down truly fighting it. Instead he is condemning the people who actually fought and cucking out.
and he has been loyal to us
He condemned the people that risked their lives being ruined or ending yesterday for him.
His plan for D.C. was nothing but to have us come listen to even more pointless talk about election fraud that accomplished jack diddly for months. He was never going to be able to beat the Left because he was never going to do what had to be done.
...Why in the world would the US government have put a government in place in Libya that supported the Soviet Union at the height of the Cold War?
But apparently that's not all the government is secretly and nonsensibly up to, evidently they hire people to pose as Trump supporters on forums for a year and then lament his defeat.
