You'd think after they were wrong over fifty times in a row their followers would have stopped but surprisingly it managed to last until the end of Trump's time in office. It's also zero surprise to me that now Lin has completely gone off the grid.

Biden said the inauguration would be digital to avoid anyone going there to stop the spread of the virus (or because no one would really show up) but the why doesn't really matter. However - if no one is going to be there why would they bring the army in in such large numbers?

I've heard multiple theories but the most common one is that Trump has pretty much just thrown his supporters under the bus by reinforcing the belief that all of his supporters are terrorists and as a result extreme fortification is necessary in the form of the NG.

The prevailing opposite opinion from what I've seen is that it's because this is necessary to enact the insurrection act.

Just interested in some theories you guys have because the other threads just keep getting flooded with memes and quotes of the bible.

I want to preface this by saying this is not even a throw away account, I just lurk here from time to time and thus this is my only account made. I also do not live in the States for what that is worth.

After the events that have happened over the past week I can not help but feel utterly hopeless on many levels;

1. Lin Wood made many promises and his word was treated as gospel (saying that there would be arrests by about today, many people being locked up etc) but this didn't come true even remotely. Bannon also the day before the Capitol hill event allured to things not going down the way we think, with a twinkle in his eye and a smile and well I guess technically he was right.

2. Trump himself painted those at the protest in a negative light and while I'm aware some believe it is a deepfake and some even think he 'had no choice' I disagree with both and it is like a punch to the gut to hear.

3. Today I had some hopes as the NYT reported that Pelosi tried to perform a military coup on a sitting president. I thought this was big news and I thought that now there was a way forward to fight back, but instead on this website there are just memes about Biden and prostitutes, Graham and Grindr and other such things which again left me feeling disheartened because I must have overreacted to the news of that.

4. Trump told people at the rally he would walk with them to Capitol Hill but he was no where to be seen

5. (And this is what has left me feeling the most doomy) At a time when many are feeling absolutely awful Trump has not said anything. He has not reached out or put anyone's mind at ease. He has not used the emergency broadcast system or gotten out a message, just one regarding a transition of power and how people won't be kicked around anymore - but with the banning's and people losing their jobs over this in America, that does not seem to be the case at all.

I don't want to come across as a shill which is why I've tried to be as accurate as possible with the things I've said and I haven't even added in everything (like Trump Jr basically saying to wait four more years to go through another rigged election). I want to be wrong and I want optimism but it has completely gone. To those who are still adamant and fully along the path of 'stick to the plan' can you please give me some hope?

And as one final note I do in my heart believe I'm being rational with the points I've made above and I don't think it's fair to cast everyone to the fire who is starting to have doubts over trump. The way I have always seen it while looking in from abroad is that it was never about trump, it was about people wanting to take their country back.
