India has a very close vote system to my country, Canada, they use paper ballots and count. The only time a counting machine is used when you stack the votes into a pile by candidate and count the ballot pile, not scan them and put them into an online reporting system like Dominion, but like the old school money counters that aren't connected to the internet, they just count the pieces of paper that cross a trigger.
I understand using counting machines, but counting machines shouldn't scan and store the vote and be connected to the internet and easily hackable.
If the worlds largest democracy India can do hand counting with paper ballots then there is no excuse why the USA can't do it. And as for these fucks "getting tired" and going home in the middle of the night? Fuck you, have some red bulls, pay overtime.
In Canada and the UK there's no going home, we find the results late in the evening or early morning, we pay overtime to count if there is a lot of votes and we provide red bulls, literally, the government buys coffee and red bulls for vote counters lol. There's no excuse for having to take weeks to count.
If you're worried about carrying cash let's say, you can use prepaid gift cards. Usually they're like a few bucks to buy the card and free to refill, and many places will load them so you can pay with cash to fill it.
I'm in Canada and for your point you can swap black with native. Worked with a bunch of natives before, they don't pay tax on their paychecks so they're clearing 2500 a week easy (12hr days x 7 days, remote rotation work) and most would get them taken entirely in cash for a 5% fee at check against places. This is despite banks wiave monthly fees if you get direct deposits or maintain a high balance, there are also naticlve owned credit unions that have no fees for members.
