Only someone without a PhD would think that that is how PhDs work. Also how do you know my curriculum vitae? Is there something I could do to help you have confidence in my education/understanding short of posting my degrees?
The mental illness is a man who thinks that cross dressing makes him a woman. A man who dresses up like Napoleon may be doing it for fun. The man who thinks he has become Napoleon is crazy.
However, I think the truly sane thing to do is not cross dress. A temptation like that when indulged becomes an obsession. Allowing ideas to possess you just because they popped into your head is a mistake. Decide what goals you have for your life and then only do things which make progress toward those goals. Cross dressing, like masturbation or porn, is a self-obsessed act that accomplishes nothing good. It is at least a waste of time and at worst leads to mental illness.
Not interested in being doxed, so I won't post that info here.
Are you saying a person needs a doctorate to understand simple ideas like a man is man no matter what clothes he is wearing? What would the dissertation even be on? "Effect of dress wearing on having a uterus"?
That is what I don't understand. All this talk about "doomers". Either it is all going to be fine and there is no need for anyone to be concerned, or winning will require extraordinary effort and is not guaranteed. The second seems more likely to me. Am I a doomer?
The universal basic income would have to be low, like $500 a month. Just enough that no one can claim to be starving to death, but low enough that almost no one would try to live on it without actual income and therefore would do actual work with actual productivity.
The biggest problem with UBI right now is that liberals would want it to be $5000 a month. The second biggest problem is that the kind of people who need it would gamble it away or spend it on crack and then still beg on the street.
The end result of $500 a month would be a cost rise such that with $500 extra the average person could afford the same stuff. I.e. The average person makes $3000 a month now. $3500 would then buy what $3000 buys today. Not an impossible rate of inflation.
Imagine though if the Supreme Court did rule. That would be civil war too. Never make a threat you are not strong enough to carry out. The Supreme Court cannot overturn elections, even if they were fraudulent. 9 justices cannot just decree something and expect no consequences.
There is a way to depoliticize the court which I would support. Every Justice gets a 20 year term. That way every president gets to nominate 1 justice every 2 years. Justices do not have to wait until they are almost dead to retire. Senate confirmation is changed so that there is less possibility for BS hearings. A simple constitutional amendment everyone could get behind.
Also, no need for nominating the youngest possible people as there is now.
It is BS. Roberts has only been a swing vote in cases where he was worried about the future reputation of the court. Agree or disagree, he clearly has been motivated by trying to "keep the court out of politics". That is why he first swung on the Obamacare case. He is worried that if the Supreme Court stuck down a popular health care law, Obama would have reacted by ignoring the court and starting the end of the court as we know it. Similar issue with DACA, he votes to strike it down and the court ceases to exist in the liberal mindset.
There are reasons to disagree with Roberts methods but anyone who doesn't understand why he "swing votes" is kind of stupid. Keep on hating him, but don't imagine that he is blackmailed. He just views himself as playing 3d chess.
The rock is not the man and the petra/petros thing is ignorant. Jesus says that his divine nature was revealed to Simon by God himself and then says "you are Rock and on this rock I will build my Church". The rock is God's revelation to man, particularly in the Holy Spirit. The rock is hearing the word of God rather than going with the flow of the world.
Then, Simon is called Rock from that point on. Not Peter, the greek word but Kephas, the Aramaic word. He holds an office of listening for God's word. Even though popes have been imperfect or even evil, their job remains to listen for the voice of God and tell us what it says.
Immediately afterward, Simon says something stupid "God forbid Lord, no such thing will ever happen to you" and Jesus calls him Satan, proving that thr man whose job is to listen and speak the will of God also sometimes is a false prophet speaking his own will. He must carefully discern whether he is hearing the will of God or his own.
What use is it to have such a person in the Church if they sometimes evil and even the good ones are sometimes wrong? Because God uses the man to communicate his will. When God chooses to speak through the Rock he does so. This provides a certain unity to the Church which is so sadly lacking in non-Catholic communities and Churches. Better to have an imperfect pope than no pope at all.
What about infallibility? When the man speaks as himself he is not infallible. When he speaks as the Rock, who has listened to God and then spoken, he is infallible. How do we know when he is speaking his own mind and not officially? This requires discernment.
In this case he tweeted: We need to dismantle the perverse logic that links personal and national security to the possession of weaponry. This logic serves only to increase the profits of the arms industry, while fostering a climate of distrust and fear between persons and peoples.
Sounds right to me. The literal meaning of his words is "We need to logically disprove that weapons cause safety." And of course he is right. Gun control people do need to logically disprove it before I stop believing it.
Just people who want to be too smart. She decided that she as a federal judge did not have power over states, which makes for a state win on the pandemic issue. Some conservatives will like that she sees judges having a limited job. Others wish she would have declared lockdown illegal.
This isn't bias. According to his analysis (which I hope is wrong) Trump wins 1 time out of 5 and Biden crushes trump 2 times out of 5. In the first case, Trump is not stealing a close election. In the second case the election is not close.
For the sake of the country I do hope that Trump wins so overwhelmingly that there is no argument about hanging chads in Florida.
You can't pre-pack the court. We nominate 10 justices, they nominate 100, we nominate 1000, pretty soon there are 100 million people on the court. A supreme court amendment is the only good answer. Perhaps one where every president gets two picks for a 20 year term. That way justices don't need to work until they die and we don't have to nominate 40 year olds.
Also because there isn't a conservative woman on the court right now. Also because male/female is not the same as other identity politics. Women make up half the country and half of voters. They will demand representation on the court.
The Navy said they were doing this to save money. The total amount saved, world wide was $250K which is equal to almost nothing percent of the Navy budget. That is to provide Masses for the 30% of Sailors who are Catholic.
The priests do like to eat and have a place to live though. They can bid the contract very low, poverty wages even, but the Navy is canceling contracts because they are valuing the work at $0 even though many of the sailors do not value it at $0.

Eucharistic Minister is the wrong word. They are Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
-
Non-Catholics can never be a EMHC
-
In the Archdiocese of the Military, communion services are forbidden. So not even Catholic EMHCs could do it.
So, no. A Non-Catholic Chaplain can not give Communion.
It is because of what I think was his biggest mistake. When insulting McCain he insulted POWs. He cannot apologize because the media has no forgiveness, but it was a low point in his campaign. There was a lot to insult McCain for without insulting POWs.
I would make a distinction. Some policies are so bad that only a bad person could hold them, while other policies are very bad (abortion, transgender) but people can hold them for bad reasons. Not every pro-choice person is evil, not every BLM supporter is evil. It is possible for people to be deeply mistaken. Bolton, I think, supports war because he thinks it is necessary for America to win.
The value is not dependent on buying and selling the way the wsbets guys said. Temporary fluctuations can cause the price to skyrocket like it did but it is fundamentally only worth what the value of the company is. How much would you buy a local Gamestop store for? $50 a share implies that a local store is worth $3.2 million, which still seems over priced to me.
A short squeeze is an event, not an investment strategy. Meme keeps the value up because maybe Gamestop can turn the memes into money and it was great advertising. If you bought at $100+ you lost that money.
