I just finished filling out my ballot to drop off tonight. When I got done, I realized I'll never have another chance to vote for our GEOTUS. :(
As a Bi-American, I 100% endorse Donald Trump. Love who you love and vote DT!!!!
I have the Five on in the background while I am working at my desk. Juan is freaking out. He just told his coworkers to 'stick it.' Is that work place violence? Just asking for a friend.
Pedes, as a show of love and support for President Trump, I just donated $100 to his campaign. Join me, if and how you are able, in demonstrating to him how important he is to us.
As a former Squid, I have to say, "Thanks and God Bless the Naval Aviators of the USMC for keeping our Mad Lad safe."
I just deleted my Reddit account. I was still using it to track stuff like SpaceX, but their wholesale assault on free speech means I have to sacrifice a little bit of infotainment for a stand on principles. Fuck you, Spez!
So, I have been giving a lot of thought to the images that the media are beaming to us and I have got to say that my disappointment is palpable. Instead of giving us the raw data to determine if the civil unrest is truly a concern for me, personally, I just see images of looting and rioting in cities far from me and my life.
At least with the COVID bs, I could find come data driven sites to examine the data. It didn't mean all the data was correct, but I could correlate the data between different sites and news stories.
With this civil unrest, I see no raw data. Show me, on an overlay of a city/county map of LA, NYC, etc. of which blocks are affected. By percentage of population, how much of a particular city is affected. Are we talking about wide spread damage (25% of a city is burnt down) or are we talking about severely limited areas (1-2%).
How much property damage has actually occurred?
How many injuries/fatalities have occurred because of the violence?
All we are being shown are little, myopic pictures of rioting and looting and fires. It looks like the apocalypse, but I am sure it is not.
This, this is a failure of our news 'professionals'. Either they are incompetent (they are) or they are just gaming us for reasons (clickbait to make money or ideological, take your pick).
I work from my home and usually have the news on in the background for some noise. I couldn't take it anymore with the talking heads (on both sides of the aisle) and I turned the news off (it has already been muted more and more by me over the last 6 months). I now have my tv tuned to a music channel and I am much happier.
As an aside, I have been doing a lot of praying lately, because the world seems to be going mad around us. As I usually do, I pray for wisdom and strength to persevere. I think the Lord has touched my heart with something. I've see all of these signs that the protester carry and all the slogans. But none of them see to have the true message. If I were the type to carry a sign (I am not), it would only say one thing:
"Choose Love"
