I told this once to a reasonable black co-worker earlier this year. He looked at me as if I shot lasers from my eyes. About 3 months later around July 2020 he started saying maybe Obama wasn't a great president. I've been TRYING to slowly and rationally say things when he asks but I'm not a person who tries to tell someone what or how to think. I think people are better off believing they came to a conclusion themselves. (no way a reference to a movie).
Anyway, I'm not sure what he thinks anymore. Used to talk to me daily about politics and wanted to convince me Kaepernick wasn't a asshole looking for a payday. Doesn't bring politics up anymore and now talks about enough of the renting and buying a house for his wife. Talks about personal business ventures he's trying ect. He asked for a recommendation in a gun when the original riots happened. I feel underneath and while maybe he doesn't directly acknowledge it, that he might be tired of all the endless politics of the left and god I hope that is true.
I REALLY need more people at work to talk with openly. I'm so tired of feeling like I am censoring myself everywhere.
Watching sports and having a fanbase brings the community together. It brings families together. It takes our minds off of politics, wars and many things.

Not only has that ship sailed, its never coming back. I give it a few years before leagues will try to censor their players from all speech but it won't matter for at least our lifetime.
I'm not upset with sports. I think everyone should be in a sport as a child AND as an adult.
I'm upset that overpaid entertainers get literally worshipped by millions of braindead people who use some false guise of "masculinity" to watch it.

Ah yes, we NEED athletes to know who to look up to. Athletes who fake falls, athletes who are in constant run-ins with LEOs for assault, domestic abuse, murder. Athletes who do nothing but glamorize themselves and their over-the-top salaries and people treat them like heroes. Athletes who are 90% all on performance drugs just to be able to compete.

Like, its unreal to me how many people now believe mail in voting is now the only option to vote. Just vote, early vote with everyone else. If you can haul your ass to Costco or Walmart to pick up groceries with a mask, you can certainly haul your ass to your voting location for the election.

I have an adult child who loved her dance classes, and went to a dance school that was always going to state wide competitions. It might not have been twerking, but a lot of the young girls’ dances were highly sexualized. A lot. I personally found it uncomfortable to watch and was always glad she had different classes, but some of these dances were choreographed by teachers at her school. They saw nothing wrong with it. The dances won awards. That was all that mattered to the teachers and the girls’ moms. I took her out of that school when she was 11. She cried at first, because the new teacher never went to competitions, but one day she realized that her new teacher had actually been a ballerina with a known dance company! All was forgiven, and boy was I glad. Nice, traditional ballet.
At the end of the day though, nobody explained to her little girl that the behavior was wrong. All she knows is that its acceptable and lots of other girls and people she looks up to do it. It's really sad this stuff is being pushed so hard. They know what they are doing and its absolutely being normalized.
Fox is fake just as MSNBC is fake. This is the message. People want a "truth" to fall back on but there is none. The message must be to use logic and reason beyond anything.
After that, OAN is "pro-USA" and doesn't show a ton of biased agenda - yet. It also will not show anti-US media if youre into news that is fair.
Honestly, I fear the mass ownership of news agencies around the country made it impossible to be fair or balanced. There is no subtext and no reason. Those who paid money are expected to be public slaves to the masters.
