My dad passed away a couple years ago and had dementia at the end. He’d served 8 years in the Marines (Parris Island, he made sure you knew that). He retired an Air Force officer but he was always more proud of his corporal stripes in the Corps than his Air Force officer rank. At the end of his life he didn’t recognize family but he would still stand and sing the Marine Corps Anthem. Your uncle is with brothers today and God is mindful of us on both sides of death.

I don’t want to be over dramatic but I think what they did is akin to the founding fathers. They put their lives, honor, and jobs at risk and their families. God bless them for their sacrifice.
