The amount of greenhouse emissions and toxic waste from the production batteries and solar panels outstrips any environmental benefit, not to mention the graft and economic inefficiency (which translates to greenhouse gasses in the end)

So spend 1/4 million dollars on a full solar setup and ev to save $100 a year in fuel cost. Sounds swell

The Cold War would have been won anyways. There was no chance that the Soviets could keep up.

I disagree with that. Making them ‘keep up’ was Reagan’s strategy, and what ultimately broke them in the end. There were plenty of Dems and leftists in our institutions who would have been happy to have detente with the Soviets, undermining our society from within and have them win over us in the end. The idea that the collapse of the Soviet Union was inevitable and Reagan had nothing to do with it is just historically wrong

Gyms are corporate entities too. I doubt they are sole proprietorships. In terms of grocery and other businesses, I find the more ‘hipster’ or left leaning the clientele is the more strict they are in masks. Responding to their customers/market. That is why it is important to push back on mask wearing. That’s the only way businesses will change

Until they can’t anymore.

Death spiral?

Sumarongi 13 points ago +16 / -3

No.

Reagan was remarkable because he was dealing with both houses of Congress being democrat. The deal was a wall for amnesty, and the Dems re-negged on the deal.

Winning the Cold War against soviet communists was the immediate existential threat, therefore he punted Republican presidents/congresses after him were supposed to fix it and did nothing

Reagan bashing, without understanding context, is just stupid
