Not 100% sure, but I’m pretty sure if a court ruled that those electoral votes were won by fraud , coercion, or if the state electoral law wasn’t followed, that would be considered not regularly given. I’m nit a lawyer pede though. I just read the statute
I’m not saying he wasn’t loved by the people. He was immensely popular. The populares maintained their political authority by appealing to the masses, mostly through land redistribution, games and welfare handouts (bread and circuses) Caesar did the same, but added a Cult of Personality to the mix. But you cant deny along with Crassus and Pompey conspired secretly to destroy and rule Rome. That’s just history.
