1. He attacked three recognized independent countries, killed 250K in the Al Anfal chemical weapons attacks, pursuing nuclear weapons, and literally depraved evil (Hitchens goes into that but it's Hitler/Stalin/Mao/Polpot level

2. he wasn't removed from power for fear of sectarian violence and the Iranian response, in return he agree to weapons inspections to to halt chemical weapons/nuclear weapons development. He didn't and flat out refused to abide by the treaties he signed

3. WMDs so they were and they were not there.
