I read the Georgia LEO page describing the legal reasons why after numerous felonies committed by Brooks who was carrying a taser with a second live round, should have been put down. I understand the he police point of view better now.
Would rather crucify criminals than sanctify. I think when the taser was pointed at the officer it was clearly time to shoot. My safety would be off and I’d be drawing a bead, ready to pull the trigger. Personally, I think once he turned and ran I would have followed the cowboy code and not shot him in the back. I understand the argument that he was a threat but I wish he would have been pursued. As an armchair commentator I don’t want to condemn the officer. I also think the time from when the officers brain registered “shoot him” until he turned his back was a VERY short period of time, muscle memory takes over after the draw.
I didn't make a sweeping assumption, I did quite the opposite, I asked a question. I guess now I understand your point and I do agree that media coverage exacebated panic buying, especially TP. However, I do not believe that there was any conspiracy to make Americans look stupid. I don't trust the mdia, but I think in this case it was just the story of the day and they ran with it.
I might be a racist - I believe in the pioneer spirit, hard work and taking care of my family and home. I don’t want anything from anybody but I sure am getting tired of the takers.
