It would seem that they, like ol' Shumer was saying, were trying to send a message to Texas....

They've certainly allowed their name to be used for such a long time - so long as the Jeep stood for a rugged, reliable vehicle.

Now, Jeep has gone woke and wants to participate in the false unity scam. Also now, Cherokee wants their name disassociated with Jeep.

Perhaps the Cherokee don't want to be associated with wokeness.....

Price gouging is when predatory prices are forced upon the consumer.

People think Griddy electric Co. was such a beast, charging $9000/MWatt hour at the end of this polar experience.

Griddy was buying electricity from the producers at prohibitive rates...because it had no choice. When rates got that high, Griddy was telling its customers to switch to bigger producers.

Who forced the price gouging? Not the electric companies.

That would be the federal DoE, with its green regs.

Because the environment is more important than human lives, in the Dems view.

Why does Texas think they have to charge $1500 for MWatt/hr, to use its own coal to fire its own plants within its own grid? Because the Feds say so?

Texas should have simply told DC we'll take care of our own, thank you very much - stick those green regs where the sun doesn't shine.

Gov. Abbott is beholden to the Bush political clan. He follows their lead.

Florida got rid of the Bush clan in their state. Time for Texas to send the Bush clan back to Connecticut...

Next time, Texas - my home state - needs to grow a pair and tell the DoE to go to hell.

Seems to me we need to declare this state an energy Sanctuary state...as well as a 2A Sanctuary state. Energy directives that impose hardship on Texans during a worst-case scenario (or in the face of an imminent disaster) simply need to be disregarded as null and void in this state.

Pissed off and stronger due to the imposed hardships, with people mocking Texas for being wimps, is not what you want to do to Texans.

So...that means ol' Lindsey wrote Trump a "sternly worded letter", telling him to make nicey-nice with Nikki.

BUGGER OFF, Lindsey.

Alan Colmes used to style himself as the Left's Rush...but he never made it stick.

The ONLY person to be able to compete with Rush as the "intellectual Rush of the Left" was....drum roll...Rush Limbaugh himself, when he spent an entire episode doing his show from the Left's perspective.

He never repeated that performance, but his content in arguing against the conservative perspective was immeasurably better than anything the Left put together, before or after.

So....telling a White to be "less White" is like telling a woman to be "less feminine, more masculine" and telling a man to be "less masculine, more feminine".

Aka...I am to be "trans-PoC". I wonder if that means "trans-PoC's" can compete with PoC's in the same way trans-women compete in women's sports...to the same effect...

Asians are next, because they are successful.

Hispanics are on deck, because they have European lineage to them. Remember the famous "white Hispanic", George Zimmerman?

It will never end with these people.

Yes, we are okay. Again - neighbors helping neighbors here.

Temps today got up over freezing and stayed there much of the day. That allowed the ice to come down out of the trees, lowering that chance of damage.

No frozen or burst pipes. Temps got down below 40* in the house, though.

Lots of hard questions about policies and decisions need to happen over the next few weeks and months. Heads should roll for what happened.

^^^THIS^^^ is true. Every word of it.

In my neighborhood, constant power vanished at 2:00 AM Sunday, and resurfaced Wednesday at 8:30 PM. In-between, it was 1-2 hours on, 8-10 off.

We are finding out just how much of a boondoggle it has been to bend the knee to all these renewable energy policies.

It is reported that federal directives made certain natural gas pipelines were pumped by electric pumps, rather than by gas-driven pumps.

It is reported ERCOT obeyed the DoE's directive to NOT increase electric output in anticipation of the wind turbines going down.

It is reported that several other policies contributed to the cascade effect we saw happen over the last week - like keeping coal power units offline because of CO2 emissions.

All of these policies were environmentally driven.

Just remember: "Environmentally conscious" = "deadly for Americans" when confronted with catastrophes of this magnitude.

So....Biden will rebuild ISIS, so he has something to go defeat. Got it.

Sucks having to follow the greatest peace-time President we've ever had, who destroyed ISIS and rebranded them WASWAS...

Florida USED to be a moderate bastion of the Bush power base. They got tired of the crap.

Here's hoping Texas will, too.

Born and raised Texan here. Can confirm all of the above comments.

1
T-Bear 1 point ago +1 / -0

Nope - not needing federal help here.

Digging out just fine.

I guess a significant part of those mentioning the feds not helping, is because they are taking away our chance to decline the help.

This is true.

Kamala Harris spoke clearly and loudly Red States and Counties should be visited with every displeasure they can think of.

7
T-Bear 7 points ago +7 / -0

Well, the terms ARE acceptable now...

A better plan might be to simply declare Texas a Sanctuary State for every Democrat globo-Commie policy.

Whatever they edict, the opposite becomes our way of life.

DARE them to come down here and enforce it.

SCOTUS rules against us? Tell them they have no standing here.

Big money is going into the fusion reactor technology race. Hydrogen (split from water) is far more plentiful than wood.

We are finding natural gas and oil are being made through an abiotic process deep down in the earth.

We have plenty of fuel for the next several centuries, if needed.

The only problem we have with it are people dead set on making millions die over the years, needlessly, by denying these fuel sources to power our grid.

Get rid of the unnecessary red tape and useless regs...let's power our grids right.

Nearly every cold weather person that funnels through here wilts and withers in the Texas summer. Like you said - you get only bursts of heat. Here, we get 90* plus from early May until late September. 100*+ with high humidity is regular from June until September.

It's not the heat - it's the humidity that withers ya.

Those acclimated to cold are hot weather wimps. Those acclimated to hot are cold weather wimps. That's a fact, Jack.

No need to piss on people when the weather common to your own neighborhood makes an extended visit to places that don't see it but once in 80-100 years.

THIS is what is going to be the death of America - the lack of mercy and compassion for one another. Empathy and lending the helping hand in mercy are hallmarks of both the American and the Christian character.

Yes - Americans are rugged individualists. No, Americans DON'T allow others - even the poorly prepped - to simply flounder and die.

One of these days it will be you caught short. You will claim it's not your fault.

Would you appreciate the same attitude you've just expressed - directed at you?

Dude - it was 7* in SE Texas Tuesday morning. Due to power outages, many people saw freezing temps inside their homes.

The coldness has already claimed over 20 people.

I've lived in Texas all my life, and this is the first time I've ever seen a snow/cold event keep the same snowfall intact on the ground for over 4 days. Today was the first day the temperature ventured up over 30* - but this was short lived. It's now back under 30, with more snow on the way.

It was -2* in Dallas that morning - temps not seen in 81 years.

NOTE: it does not need to be below freezing for hypothermia to set in.

Oooo...lookee here - another handshake account made just to troll and insult.

We'll see how well that works for ya in the north with the next heat wave.

And we all know that's going to hit the north one day - scorching high-humidity heat Texans are used to, but people in the north aren't.

Yet - instead of laughing at you and telling you to simply suck it up...we'll be the ones shipping A/C's, ice, water, and more relief supplies to get you back on your feet.

Because we Texans are just that way.

We all knew this day was coming. It doesn't make it any less painful.

Thanks you, Rush, for the many blessings, nuggets of wisdom, and trailblazing you have done through the years.

You let us know we aren't crazy, we aren't few, and we aren't silent. Thank you again.

Rest in Peace, gentle warrior of a loveable fuzzball. See you on Resurrection Morning.

Blessings,
