I think what I need to do is research cult behavior and how to slowly break someone free from cult like conditioning. I've tried our standard red pilling techniques but this does not work with her at all. She just completely shuts down. It's almost as if her mind is about to shatter if I am able to show her one more logical error or her own confirmation bias.

There is a system. The public education system has been corrupted. News, Social Networking, universities... they are all arms of a bigger system. There's also the project veritas undercover videos where the guy admits they look for mentally unstable people and paid them to start violence outside of rallies and make it appear to be Trump supporters.
Basically, it's a combination. My daughter's mental issues stem from things that happened when she was a very young child and due to those issues she became easy to influence and manipulate. She's also stubborn as hell and once she gets an idea in her head that's it. And since she has always had a soft spot for the underdog she has been an easy target for those that advertise themselves as being the champions of the underdog.

I don't know about the therapist. She's been going for 5 years and she has made great strides in how she deals with people and issues. I mean, I've seen great progress and am hopeful on that front. The way she worded it was "determine what kind of relationship she wants to have with us" which sounds very therapist recommended to me. I don't know if she's being totally honest with her therapist about her reasons though. I think the part about it depending on if he is re-elected is coming from the stuff she reads online.
Remember that they truly can't help themselves when they go on the attack (as with the "bUt He'S a CrImInAl" anecdote) and they will usually back off if you don't respond in an emotional manner.
I didn't respond in an emotional manner but I've always said I will correct misinformation. correcting misinformation seems to cause some kind of shift in the matrix and the more proof I calmly present the more powerful that shift. Like I said, I could sense she was on the verge of a breakdown when I said let's not talk about it anymore. She continued to try to say what she said and I just repeated let's not talk about it anymore.

I can think of one thing that she has strong interest in right now that I could try to start learning about and share with her and I'm willing to do it. But she pretty much stated that if Trump is re-elected she no longer wants a relationship with me. I'm already hurt and I can't imagine how I will feel if I spend the next year or so learning this hobby of hers and sharing it with her, getting closer to her and then when he's re-elected her writing me off. Also, I never bring this stuff up, she is the one that brings it up. Yesterday was her way of warning me what is coming after the election.
