Layoffs or just firings. I own a small business and I can tell you if I had to pay everyone $15 an hour I wouldn’t have as many employees. I would keep only the best ones and have to let go of the others. My margins are slim. That would push me out of the profit zone and into the debt zone. The unfortunate thing is the remaining employees would have to probably work about twice as hard.
