I am the wife, and I was gonna go, but now my mom and I are gonna bust my dad out of the shithole nursing home he’s in to take care of him at home. He’s 85 and battling C. diff, it’s ugly. I’ll be so unhappy to miss it but this is too critical. At least Daddy and I got to go to the Tampa rally where the famous Acosta bird flip photo was taken, so we have that memory. Maybe I can offer our guest house as a stopover for long distance Pedes on the road, we live in NW Arkansas.

He had a caller just before who got super emotional telling Rush how listening to Rush was almost like being with his father. Which I think is the reality for SO MANY of Rush’s fans. Rush was very appreciative of course and struggled to encapsulate just what we his audience means to him. He kept saying “I just wish there was so other way to put it besides ‘Thank you.’” Playing his traditional Silent Night we got the sense that this would be the last time.
