My stepdad is a permanent resident from Honduras. Just got laid off and my mom got the virus and is having to take leave from work (nurse in major Seattle hospital). He was pissed because of the media telling him he wasn't getting a check because Trump is racist.
I got to explain to him that since he followed US law, is a permanent resident with a social security number (not a tax id used by illegals to pay IRS), he is here legally and therefore will be getting the full amount he is entitled to based on his 2018 tax returns.
His response? "TRUMPWECAN, are you sure? Why would Univision lie about this things?"

My mom works as a nurse in a Seattle hospital and tested positive on Monday. She's asymptomatic and has been told she can come back Sunday if she continues to not show symptoms.
