False accusations need to carry the same penalty as the crime they claim.

Awesome video!

The more we learn about the complexity of things in various scientific fields, the more proof we find of intelligent design.

The whole idea that the universe is a result of total random chance is absolutely ludicrous.

The 21-year employee for Montgomery County Public Schools – who also runs Pirate Magic, a business that throws “pirate parties” for youngsters while he portrays a character named “Captain Silly Bones”

Yep, pretty sure he's a diddler.

I did show you, it is called the heat index dipshit.

The definition of heat index is your proof?

I'm quite familiar with the heat index. It's a huge factor here. The humidity will make temps of 95-100 feel like 110. It works the other way too, the humidity will also make it feel colder.

the fact that minnesotta gets hotter than texas

Holy fuck, that is delusional.

You all fucked up and instead of being humble about it you are acting like a bunch whiny entitled liberal pussies.

Nah, I didn't fuck up, this shit had nothing to do with anything I did. I haven't been whiny or entitled, I take care of my shit.

So you still have nothing, just name-calling, got it.

Weather data is available for pretty much anywhere, tell me where you are and I'll find it. (I'm sure you won't though, because your claims are bullshit)

BACK UP YOUR CLAIM OR STFU.

Also, Rochester wasn't like that when I was there in '94-'95. Half the football team lived in those apartments at the time. I played under Coach Kereakos during his last year as head coach, where we went 7-2 and won the '95 RC Cola Bowl 26-24. We didn't even have our own football field, just a practice field. We used one of the local HS fields for home games. Who'd you play for? Or is that more bullshit too?

BTW, show me one single post where I demand any help for anyone in Texas... you can't. My posts are simply trying to inform people of the situation down here, I haven't asked anyone for help. As a matter of fact, I was prepared. It is because I lived in Minnesota that I know how to survive the cold. I turned my water off at the source so my pipes never froze. I have plenty of food, water, and back-up power and heat sources, just for shit like this. I haven't even gotten close to using all my preps. I've been helping out neighbors who weren't prepared though, because you can't count on government.

Why are you so hostile anyway, what do you get out of it?

You have no clue what you are fucking talking about

You seem to love that phrase... projection at its finest. A+!!!

it was 122 degrees for humans in rochester in august of 2020

Please, show me where it says that.

It absolutely gets far fucking hotter in minnesotta then it does in texas

You have no humidity in texas it feels fucking fantastic.

in Minnesota where it is 90% humidity the real temperature is always closer to 120 degrees.

Holy fucking shit, you're actually retarded. LMFAO.

I'm done here, peace out.

Rochester was not the liberal hellhole it is now when I was there. I played football at RCC for a year and lived in the apartments now known as "The Quarters". There's a sidewalk that connect the two which is where my ears got frostbitten from the wind during the walk home after a cold front rolled in while I was in class. It was -20 with -40 wind chills that week. Believe me, I'll never forget it.

If you think my data is cherry-picked bullshit, let's see yours. I'll wait.

Where, exactly? The data says you're full of shit.

TXPatriot_73 0 points ago +1 / -1

Hahaha, fucking typical. You have no actual argument, so you resort to ad-hominem attacks. I post factual historical data and you've got nothing. And sorry, the weather does not give a shit if you are urban or rural except that cities can be a few degrees warmer from all the heat held by the concrete. And yeah, I realize the weather in northern MN is different from southern MN. International Falls has had some of the coldest temps ever recorded in the state. I lived in Rochester (in the south) and it never got close to 100.

Let's see some 2020 data for Rochester... Oh look, not a day over 90 in July

Ok then, let's check August... only two days even got to 90, and there ZERO days over 100. The average temperature for the entire month was only 71.

Back up your claims or STFU.

Here's a list of every day it's been 100+ in the Twin Cities since 1873...

https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/climate/journal/100degreesmsp.html

It sure as fuck doesn't happen every July and August.

It doesn't even happen every year - Not. Even. Close.

Maybe you don't know what you're talking about?

My pipes are fine. I turned my water off at the meter and drained the lines at every fixture. The water heater is in an interior space with no danger of freezing since we never lost power for longer than an hour a couple times. The problem here is with the utility supply lines. They are not buried very deep and are often exposed directly to the weather (creek crossings and such), and pretty much never insulated. I'm hearing news of different neighborhoods coming back online, so we should be fine in a matter of days.

I've lived in MN before, and you are correct, he is full of shit. I went there to play football, and my teammates that were local were passing out from the "heat" during summer practices when it was 85 with a breeze, while I barely broke a sweat.

TXPatriot_73 0 points ago +1 / -1

I know exactly what I'm talking about. I've lived in Minnesota and Indiana, and it barely got to 90 in the summer, and never got above 100. Where are you located, roughly? You might be in a different climate zone that may experience higher temperatures.

3
TXPatriot_73 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yep. The year I lived in Minnesota was to play football. That year in my part of Texas, the first two weeks of August were 100+. I was in Minnesota starting the 3rd week of August for 3-a-day practices, and the high temps were around 85, and it was breezy too. Those Minnesota guys were dropping like flies around me from the "heat" while I was barely breaking a sweat. That all changed completely when winter hit, and these fools were in shorts when it was 10 degrees, while I was bundled up in my room, lol.

TXPatriot_73 5 points ago +6 / -1

That's true, but how often does it get that hot, and for how long at a time? Sure you can handle a day or two without much problem, but if it goes for a week or more, people start dying. I've lived up north, and the people there just aren't acclimated to it... just like we aren't acclimated to this extended cold. We get temps of 100+ for weeks at a time, yet it typically only snow a tiny bit every few years. What's happening now is very uncommon.

TXPatriot_73 5 points ago +5 / -0

You're right, one area isn't better or worse, just different. And yes, there are ways to deal with cold... we just don't have many of them here. I am knowledgeable enough to understand the differences and had my house well prepared, but I'm without running water because the 8" main feeding my area froze and ruptured (I do have plenty of stored water for drinking/bathing, and we collected snow to melt for flushing the toilets). On top of that, everybody dripping their faucets to keep their home's pipes from freezing has actually lowered the storage tanks in my area below a certain level, which automatically shut down the pumps to keep them from burning up, which caused them to freeze instead. The system was never designed to provide for this much demand all at once. It's a clusterfuck of conditions our infrastructure just wasn't built to handle. Hopefully things will get better after temps start staying above freezing on Saturday. Granted, there are plenty of people who had no idea what we were in for, so I've been making the rounds making sure all my neighbors are taken care of, delivering cases of water to folks weren't prepared.

TXPatriot_73 3 points ago +4 / -1

Well you got that right! Those are even less equipped to deal with cold weather, and there's probably millions of them here.

I design buildings. The differences in the building codes between Texas climate zones and ND climate zones are huge as far as insulation requirements are concerned. Nothing here is designed to be in this cold of weather for this long. It is all failing. Water utilities need parts to fix pumps that froze, but can't get any because truck aren't running again yet, because the roads are a mess and we don't have plows and salt trucks. Same for grocery stores, no food because no trucks. I lived in Minnesota for a while and the opposite is true there. The worst week I was there, the temps were -20 with wind chill -40. It was cold, but those buildings are designed to withstand it. They don't do well in heat above 90 though, as a lot of homes don't even have A/C, just heat. It's not about our "weak side", you have to consider the actual physical differences of the regions. I'd be curious to see how well you fare after a week of 100+ temps with 95% humidity. It's like living in a sauna.

I didn't know about that plant, but that would make sense. It looks like temps will stay above freezing starting Saturday, so hopefully we can all get some relief and crews can get this shit fixed.
