I would say to them that they should read and learn the Constitution so they would know everything Trump is doing is not only Constitutional, but an absolute duty since he has sworn to protect this country from all threats both foreign and domestic.

IMO Cruz was just speaking out of his mouth when he talked about the PA case, he probably thought it wouldn't get to SCOTUS and wanted some brownie points that he was helping Trump. I don't think Ted even knew what Texas was about to do.
Now that Texas came in, Trump put Cruz on the spot and asked him to do the Texas case to see if he was serious or just talking out of his mouth when he offered to do PA.
